Banyan Cottage The cottage is located between two large banyan trees and has a commanding view of the blue Pacific ocean and sunsets. It is situated like a Swiss Family Robinson tree house. The entrance on the east is an easy two step up access to the covered porch right next to concrete parking. But once in the cottage there is the wonderful illusion of living in a tree house. The 800 sq. ft. cottage is a comfortable rustic design with large picture windows, westerly porch swing, B-B/Q, a Cal-king bed, Hawaiian antiques, Cable/VCR, phone, kitchenette and an expansive bath with marble, stained glass, double shower and step over double Jacuzzi hot tub. The cottage is separated from the rest of the Inn but has an easy path to breakfast and all of the Inn amenities. The cottage is unique for privacy and comfort in a rural country setting. However, it is not a controlled environment. The neighbor's dogs may bark at the wild pigs that come through at night and there is some road noise from folks going to and from work. The daily rate is $150.00 with discounts of 5% for 3-6 nights and 10% for 7 nights or more. $25. is added for each additional person. The Cottage is located at the 940' elevation on Hualalai Road just 3 miles from the Kailua-Kona village and 3 miles to the sleepy little Kona coffee town of Holualoa (now an art colony). www.hawaii-inns.com/hi/kna/hmh
