Our home ia a 200 year old farm made up of four wings - you can see more pictures and a short history here on our website www.ritslev.dk/ private (partly in Danish and some in English).
The house is totally remodelled and up-todate.
The lot is 2 acres mostly grass and trees: collection of rhododendrons, lots of old and modern roses and bulbs, fruit trees, grapes and berry bushes, etc.
We have dog and 4 cats who will need a bit of care (the cats sleeps outdoor). Also, the grass will need molding once a week.
Our 'beach front' is 110 m (330 feet) with a wide view over Roskilde Fjord. It's to the West, so one can enjoy the sunsets from the terrasse, summer as winter. Our part of the fjord is a EU bird santuary with swans, sea gulls, eagles and many other birds, mostly seabirds.
The place is good for kids as they have lots of room to play in - the water is knee deep 100 m out - no need to worry about cars etc. As for teenagers, they will most likely be a bit bored if they have to spend too much time in the neighborhood: however, easy access to more 'exciting' places by public trnsportation.

We are in our late 50's with two sons, the youngest (18) is still living at home.
We are both working.
I'm a management consultant while my wife works with export. In her spare time, she runs a shop with hand picked French and Swedish house and religious objects, see our website (in Danish) http://www.ritslev.dk/kronen. She visits fleamarkets France and Sweden regularly to pick up 'new' things. The shop is located in one of the wings with an own entrance from the outside retaining our privacy. It's open only during week-ends. She ships everywhere. She is also engaged in many other actitivities, church, quilting, flowers, decorating shop and home, keeping the flower garden, etc.
My spare time is mostly busy with either remodelling the house or doing garden work. |
